In the words of the classic Patti Page song, if you’re fond of sand dunes and salty air, quaint little villages here and there… you’re sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod, now confirmed as the location of AWA’s 17th Annual Member Show and Juried competition.

AWA members will gather at the Addison Art Gallery in Orleans, Massachusetts – an establishment that  American Art Collector Magazine describes as, “one of the most successful galleries in the country astounding the public with art by newly discovered artists and masterpieces by established artists.”

Owner Helen Addison is enthusiastic about the show. “All of us at the Addison Art Gallery are looking forward to hosting American Women Artists; the exhibition will surely be a highlight of a season full of noteworthy shows.”

IMPORTANT SCHEDULING NOTE: To take advantage of the Cape’s high season, the show will run from August 15 to September 15, 2014 with the opening reception Saturday, Aug 16th.   This is earlier than our usual fall schedule and all corresponding deadlines will be moved up on the calendar. Watch for details soon.

Ann Larsen

Dear AWA Members, Patrons and Supporters,

Join us! We cordially invite you to attend our Annual Member Meeting, held in conjunction with our annual show Sunday, November 3 from 9:00 – 11:30 AM at the Sunday House Inn and Suites in Fredericksburg, Texas.   Associate, Signature and Master Signature members are all encouraged to make their voices heard as we chart our course for the coming years.

You may have noticed our renewed sense of energy and direction as an organization.  It comes, in no small part, as a result of the input and volunteer efforts from our long-time members and the fresh energy and enthusiasm of our new Associates.  Our 2014 calendar is jam-packed with a show at the prestigious Booth Museum of Western Art in Georgia and the annual member show and juried competition at the Addison Art Gallery located in the heart of New England’s most iconic tourist destination.

The professional art opportunities extended to us as an organization are no accident.  Our members are some of the most accomplished artists in the country and our volunteers are diligent about maintaining that level of excellence as we continue to be a leading artist-run organization.  So join us in Fredericksburg and let’s set the agenda for success!

Focus on the future: great ideas lined the walls of the conference room as AWA members made the 2012 Member Meeting a lively, productive and most of all, participatory event.
