American Women Artists would like to welcome Dr. Jann Haynes Gilmore to our esteemed Board of Directors. Dr. Gilmore brings a wealth of knowledge to AWA as an art historian, writer, and watercolorist. She is the author of several books, numerous articles, and is a curator of exhibitions about forgotten American women artists. She lives in Alexandra, Virginia, although spends months at a time in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Maine. She was Acting Director for the National Endowment for the Humanities in DC from 1983 – 1984. She’s also a collector of American women artists from 1850-1950.
In June 2019, Dr. Gilmore was one of the guest speakers at the AWA symposium on women in the arts in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
AWA is thrilled to have Jann join us in celebrating women artists.
