• Women artists and artists who identify as women who draw, paint, sculpt, or create original hand- pulled prints
• Age: 18 years of age & up
• Location: living and working in the United States and Canada

Features of Associate Membership

• Eligible to apply for the annual National Museum Exhibition and Annual Online Juried Show
• Free AWA website member directory listing of your artist name and link to your professional artist website
• Opportunity to have awards and other art news promoted through AWA’s social media outlets
• Portfolio and peer mentoring review opportunities with Signature and Master-Signature members
• Virtual and in-person workshops on continuing education, best practices, business development and more
• Access to a private Facebook group for networking and support by and with fellow AWA members
• Vendor discounts available via member portal.

Who is Eligible?
Associate Members who have been juried into at least one AWA juried show:

• Spring Online Juried Show
• AWA’s National Museum Exhibition

• Eligible to apply for the annual National Museum Exhibition and Annual Online Juried Show
• Free AWA website member directory listing of your artist name and link to your professional artist website
• Opportunity to have awards and other art news promoted through AWA’s social media outlets

Who is Eligible?
Associate with Distinction artists who have juried into at least three (3) AWA National Juried Exhibitions (Instagram Pop-Up Shows do not count toward Signature eligibility)

• May use the initials “AWA” after their signature
• Eligible to apply for the annual National Museum Exhibition and Annual Online Juried 
• Free AWA website member directory listing of your artist name and link to your professional artist website
• Opportunity to have awards and other art news promoted through AWA’s social media outlets
• Opportunity to provide mentorship to Associate and Associate with Distinction Members
• Virtual and in-person workshops on continuing education, best practices, business development and more
• Access to a private Facebook group for networking and support by and with fellow AWA members
• Vendor discounts available via member portal.

Who is Eligible?
Master-Signature membership is by invitation only on an annual basis to one or two current Signature members. The exemplary work of a Master-Signature Member can be seen in museum exhibitions, fine art galleries, publications, and collections across the country.  These members also demonstrate passion and commitment to the mission of AWA through service and enhancing public awareness of AWA.  View Master-Signature criteria HERE.

• May use the initials “AWAM” after their signature
• Master-Signature Medal designed by Sculptor Diana Reuter-Twining
• Annual Master-Signature Lunch and Induction Ceremony
• Eligible to apply for the annual National Museum Exhibition and Annual Online Exhibitions
• Free bio with headshot and link to artist’s website on the AWA website
• Opportunity to have awards and other art news promoted through AWA’s social media outlets
• Opportunity to provide mentorship to Associate and Associate with Distinction Members
• Virtual and in-person workshops on continuing education, best practices, business development and more
• Access to a private Facebook group for networking and support by and with fellow AWA members

Who is Eligible?
Heritage Circle membership represents AWA’s highest honor and is conferred by invitation only. Heritage Circle Members include AWA Members who have demonstrated exemplary service to the organization. Many Heritage Circle Members are founding members of American Women Artists and are responsible for over thirty years of empowering and uplifting women in fine visual art across the United States and Canada.

Features of Heritage Circle Membership

• May use the initials “AWAH” after their signature
• Do not have to jury in to the annual National Museum Exhibition and Annual Online Exhibitions
• Bio with headshot and link to artist’s website on the AWA website
• Opportunity to have awards and other art news promoted through AWA’s social media outlets
• Opportunity to provide mentorship to Master signature and Signature Members
• Virtual and in-person workshops on continuing education, best practices, business development and more
• Access to a private Facebook group for networking and support by and with fellow AWA members
• Vendor discounts available via member portal.

Patron membership is available to anyone who is dedicated to the inspiration, celebration, and encouragement of women in the visual fine arts. American Women Artists relies on generous support from its Patron Members to fulfill its mission.
