Pam Ingalls
( b. 1957)

Pam Ingalls loves to paint. A simple portrait or interior captures the spirit and light from within. Intense color and lyrical brush strokes define her work. She studied art at the Accademia Di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy; earned an art degree from Gonzaga University and apprenticed under Russian Impressionist Ron Lukas. Her studio on Vashon Island, WA, is filled with her paintings from all over the world. Pam’s painting may be universal in scope, but each one is a personal statement from her heart.

Artist's Statement:

I feel very lucky to have a good excuse to notice my life with paint. Even the simplest moment (like glancing at cherries on the table) has its own atmosphere – its own story. When I meet a person, walk into a room, or even pick up an orange, I get a certain feeling. There’s an essence that belongs to just that moment. I get to be with that feeling while I attempt to translate it into the poetry of paint.

Winning the Purchase Award has such enormous significance for me, it’s every artist’s dream to be in a museum and my work, Lee’s Ferry Landing, will be at the Tucson Desert Art Museum for as long as I live. I’m so thankful to the American Women Artists for that opportunity.”
