Artist's Statement:

Working in pastel, Lisa is particularly interested in capturing the beauty of light and how it affects her subject. She paints on location as often as possible-her destinations of choice are usually coastal regions of the East Coast and the mountains of Montana.

In addition to being a Master Signature Member and Board Member of  American Women Artists, Lisa is a Master Circle Member of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS/MC); and Southeastern Pastel Society (SPSM); Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA), Artists For Conservation (AFC), and Cowgirl Artists of America (CGA), and the Pastel Society of American (PSA); Elected Member of the Audubon Artists; Signature Fellow of the American Artists Professional League (AAPLF); Artist Member of The Copley Society; Associate Member of the Allied Artists of America and a co-founder of the Atlanta Fine Arts League.

Winning the Purchase Award has such enormous significance for me, it’s every artist’s dream to be in a museum and my work, Lee’s Ferry Landing, will be at the Tucson Desert Art Museum for as long as I live. I’m so thankful to the American Women Artists for that opportunity.”
