Artist's Statement:
From the stillness and solitude of my studio, I explore the beauty that exists in the heart of the beholder through the genre of portraiture. Fascinated with moments when I catch a glimpse of the subtle nuances of the human face and form— it’s emotion, introspection, and honesty—I realize that we are all connected in some way. The narrative imagery of these moments draws me in. I’m compelled to paint the story that each has to tell— creating a feeling of intimacy, gratitude, and heightened sensitivity to the uniqueness and mystery of the human spirit.

Winning the Purchase Award has such enormous significance for me, it’s every artist’s dream to be in a museum and my work, Lee’s Ferry Landing, will be at the Tucson Desert Art Museum for as long as I live. I’m so thankful to the American Women Artists for that opportunity.”
