Watercolor Demonstration with Carol Carter
June 27 • 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
We are so fortunate to have the renowned watercolorist Carol Carter joining us at our Steamboat exhibition as a Guest Artist and Symposium Speaker. Carol will also be giving a free watercolor demonstration from 3 pm – 4:30 pm, Thursday, June 27, at the Chief Theater (813 Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat Springs, CO). Carol creates contemporary, large-scale watercolors and is considered to be one of the most important contemporary artists working in the medium today. Katherine Lemke Waste, AWA Master Member says of her work, “She has complete control over what seems uncontrollable. Her blooms and back runs, which are usually unwelcome accidents for most watercolorists, become integral elements of her compositions. Carter’s technical mastery, evocative subject matter and transparent color harmonies make her entire body of art some of the most painterly works in watercolor.” The event is free on a first-come basis.
