Scratchboard Workshop with Sally Maxwell

May 26 - May 27

AWA presents Scratchboard: Tips & Techniques with Sally Maxwell
May 26 – 27, 2020 | 9:30 am – 4:30 pm | $350
Booth Art Academy | TRC Building, 1 N Gilmer Street, Cartersville, GA 30120

In this 2-day workshop students will learn the fundamentals of scratchboard art. Students will be working on an 8″ x 10″ board, trying different tools and techniques. Sally will spend one-on-one time with each student during the workshop and continue to mentor them to completion of their work through email and texts.

Sally Maxwell, AWA Master Signature Member, has been working with scratchboard for over 45 years and is considered the Master of scratchboard art in the Untied States. Maxwell is credited with advancing a medium that had been for years relegated to illustrators and children. Because of her persistence and determination, thousands of artists today use scratchboard, and not only for monochromatic drawings; many have learned to add color and dimension from demonstrations and videos created by Maxwell through Ampersand. Her work is sought by private and corporate collectors for its ability to capture the beauty and emotion of wildlife and the natural world.
