Portfolio Reviews – For AWA Members

AWA artists will have the opportunity to have their portfolio reviewed by select Master Members of AWA. This review will provide important insight that could help elevate your artwork! Each session will include a 20-minute review of a portfolio submitted by the artist. Reservations are required and portfolios must be submitted prior to the review. The sessions will fill up quickly, please contact Amanda Zimmerman at email@example.com for more information or to reserve your spot. The deadline to sign-up is May 1, 2020. Reviews will be by phone or teleconferencing.

Carol Carter | Watercolor
Carol Carter’s work has been exhibited in nine countries and published worldwide. She received her MFA from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. She was an Artist in Residence-Everglades (AIRE) Fellow, Everglades National Park. The U.S. Embassy sponsored a solo exhibition of her work at the Teatro del Centro de Arte in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Carol has taught in France, Norway, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Morocco, and the US Virgin Islands, as well as coast to coast in the United States. She maintains a studio in St. Louis.
Paula Holtzclaw | Oil
NC artist Paula Holtzclaw is known for exquisite light-filled paintings of unspoiled and undeveloped landscapes, executed in a unique blend of classical realism and impressionism. “I am a painter of our increasingly threatened Low Country wetlands – coastal country where water meets sea – of twilight and dawn: times of mystery and transition.” Paula’s paintings are collected nationally and shown in national, international and museum exhibitions. Paula and her husband live in Waxhaw, NC, a small community known for its horse farms and antiques.
Krystii Melaine | Oil
Krystii Melaine paints the beauty of life, from quiet moments to joyful action. Poetic rather than narrative, her paintings leave room for interpretation, speaking quietly but profoundly to those who pause to listen. Classically trained in Australia, Krystii finds inspiration in people and animals, focusing on the American West. Numerous awards and 23 paintings in museum collections attest to the quality of her work. “I love communicating emotion through my paintings, reaching out to touch your heart and bring happy moments into your home.”
Sandy Graves | Sculpture
Nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado at her home in Steamboat Springs, Sandy Graves practices her craft. She is a woman whose life is defined by relationships, exploration, fun, and emotion. As a sculptor, Sandy’s style is marked by these elements. Her work is recognized for her use of negative space, exaggerated forms, implied energy, and emotional content. Sandy studied art at North Texas State University and Colorado State University. Born in Denver, CO, Sandy was raised in Western Nebraska
