AWArded: Congratulations to Founding Member Joni Falk, Artist of the Year

The Friends of Western Art have named AWA founding member Joni Falk as their Artist of the Year for 2016.

Joni is a realist painter of still life and landscapes, and has lived in Phoenix, Arizona since 1960. She grew up in Chicago, and is a graduate of Marquette University In Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Joni has exhibited in regional and national shows winning numerous awards including several museum purchases. She is a popular instructor at the Scottsdale Artists’ School and will be teaching one of AWA’s workshops there alongside Master Signature member Linda Glover Gooch on Monday, November 9.

Carol Alleman has been invited to participate in the upcoming Green and Gray Exhibition at the Tempe Center for the Arts, Tempe, Arizona. This center is a publicly owned center for both the performing and visual arts. The Green and Gray exhibit will focus upon natural and urban life and where they meet and intersect. This exhibit will open on October 2, 2015 and run through January 9, 2016.

The exhibition will showcase approximately 9-10 pieces of Carol’s work and will include a retrospective element showing several pieces within editions that sold out years ago. Along with the body of bronze work being exhibited, her Companion Writings will also be presented as an integral part of the exhibit.  Green and Gray exhibit will focus upon natural and urban life and where they meet and intersect. This exhibit will open on October 2, 2015 and run through January 9, 2016.
